A challenging and very rewarding project for greencube involving the transformation of an unprepossessing back garden mountain slope in Camps bay below the Twelve Apostles into a series of organic sculpted terraces. The table mountain sandstone was recycled and dressed from the site itself during the initial escavation works which were carried out with the aid of a thirty ton excavator teetering perilously close to the partially demolished home prior to it’s renovation.
Large feature boulders were selected as they were discovered on site and placed intuitively for maximum drama and function. A carefully chosen selection of water-wise indigenous plant material contributes dramatic form, texture and colour to this vibrant garden.
Natural and dressed stone combine with hardwood decking and contemporary finishes of this home.
A hot tub and swimming pool are effortlessly incorporated into this mountainside retreat.
Harmony between the dominant elements – wood, stone and planting provides fascinating compositions from every angle and the garden merges with its vast backdrop quite naturally.
